Let me tell the story on why I became a jewelry designer

and what it has to do with curiosity, courage, and connection

It was a crisp and sunny day in January 2014.
My partner and I had just finished an interview for the local newspaper on our self-built low energy house when the phone rang. My mum had suffered a severe stroke.
What followed after that I can only describe as very dark times between hope and despair.
My career as an exhibition designer ended that day because traveling was out of the question and I needed to focus my energy away from those demanding and deadline driven projects.
In my grief, that I wasn’t supposed to feel, as my mum was still alive, I turned to what I love to do – making jewelry. The process of creating something beautiful out of a pile of beads felt reassuring and gave me hope. Creating new designs restored my belief in the good. Each piece became a little talisman for my soul, a joyful armor for everyday life.
So here I am, years later, as a motherless daughter, still loving to create. I have reduced and simplified, doubted and tried hundreds of versions in order to find my signature style. The outcome is courageously simple, strong but gentle, essential and authentic, yet not girly. Just like you.

Your choice of jewelry is part of your story – a reminder of the moments in your life, both good and bad, that made you who you are today. Jewelry is the connection.
As an heirloom, much-loved jewelry gets passed down from one generation to the next, rekindling fond memories of a loved one we miss dearly or hinting at the characters we never met despite being deeply connected to us. Maybe it’s the necklace you remember your mother wearing on special occasions or a bracelet that belonged to your great-grandmother who coincidentally has the same style as you.

Life is about integrity and the courage to find the real, beautiful you and to proudly present it to the world. Your jewelry part of that journey, keeping you grounded and feeling loved. It is a little piece of home, even if you are a wandering soul like me.

Thank you for your curiosity. I am grateful for your eclectic style, your wonderful taste and your courage to choose the distinct over standard.
If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be creating jewelry. I am sure, we would have a great time together over a cup of coffee or a nice cold glass of rosé.

Your jewelry is part of your personal story – a reminder of the moments in your life that made you who you are today. All pieces in your collection are part of your story. I still have those big earrings from the eighties where I know exactly how I felt wearing them. I would never part with them, would you?

Jewelry is heritage too. It gets passed down from one generation to the next, hinting at the characters we never met despite being deeply connected to us, or rekindeling fond memories of a loved one we miss dearly.
